How it works
The logistics, in plain words.
Who’s inthe Squad?
Autistic and neurodivergent teens (14–18), young adults (18–24) and adults (25–35), in three squads by age.
If neurodivergence makes building friendships and growing community hard for you, then you’re one of us!
What We Do
Each month you’ll have a diverse calendar of activities, outings, and events including game nights, bowling, museum visits, and more—where you’ll have at least two chances to do something fun with your Squad.
Unlike coaching or behavioral training, The Motley Squad works like a great group of friends. Nobody is graded or asked to perform.
Where
We serve individuals from Mapleton all the way to Kaysville and everywhere in between. We try to mix it up and vary our location as much as possible to make it easier for some of our folks in the outer edges of our reach.
Event pages have date, time, and location information, and we do our best to set up carpools and help make sure that everyone can make it.
What it Costs
The Motley Squad currently does not charge a membership fee to participate. However, we are big believers in the community we are growing and all the ways that participants and their families can help us keep the lights on. This can be a small monthly donation of $30 if that’s feasible, helping with carpools to and from hangouts, hosting fun activities, or helping fundraise for the Squad.

Who Facilitates
The Squad is run by professionals who are trained to create safe social spaces, build community, and encourage growth without overt coaching or clinical “skill-building.”
No one gets interrupted, told what to say, or graded on their social performance. We’re just there to keep everyone safe and throw a great hang!
What Helps You
Tell us what would make a hangout easier for you. There is a space for it on the join form, and it stays with us.
A quiet space, a heads-up about noise or crowds, arriving a little early: ask, and we will do what we can.
Your firsthangout
Fill in the form for the Squad that is the best fit for you or your teen. You’ll get a confirmation email that lets you know you’re officially on our waitlist.
You’ll get an email for your first hangout! And we’ll be there ready to greet you and introduce you to friends at the Squad.
